我们现在通知您我们已经开始接受即将出版的《世界鸟类手册》第13卷所用的照片。你们可能已经知道这一卷将涉及以下的科：

请尽快将您希望用于这卷的所有照片寄给我们，最迟不晚于10月末。我们提醒您我们最希望用可以表现出繁殖、狩猎、觅食、运动等行为的照片。虽然毫无疑问在野外拍摄的照片最可能获选，但是我们恐怕也不得不使用一些饲养鸟类的肖像和图片。对于每张图片在13卷中的非买断一次性使用，我们将支付120美元。

如果您有数码照片想要提交，请用CD或者DVD的形式提交。我们热切希望您对每个照片文件作出包括鸟种学名、您的名字第一个字母和您的姓氏在内的标志。例如Sitta europaea jsmith 1.tif这样的文件名。我们将非常感谢您遵照这些程序来提交照片。这种标志方式将为我们在漫长的选择过程中节省时间如果我们需要依据科和鸟种来对比照片。

此外，我们需要高质量高分辨率的数码照片（原始的，高分辨率的，未剪裁的文件）。您可以使用由原始的RAW-TIFF文件在PS中经过简单的直方图修正后首次存成JPEG12的文件、TIFF文件或者直接是原始的RAW文件。

请不要寄出扫描后的幻灯片，因为我们希望得到原始的幻灯片而不是扫描后的文件。因为扫描后的文件的质量通常不及原始的照片。
